HORSE Poker Rules
April 30, 2009
HORSE poker is a mixture of 5 different poker games. Texas HoldEm, Omaha, Razz, Seven Card Stud and Seven Card Stud hi/lo (eights or better). The standard HORSE poker rules say every 6 hands/raising of the blinds/ante the game changes. The most important thing to know if that all HORSE games are of the LIMIT variation. Unless otherwise stated. The betting for Texas HoldEm and Omaha goes as you are used to in a normal game, but for Razz and the 2 stud versions every single player will need to post an ante. This is followed by two cards face down and an upcard on show for everyone. In Stud the person with the highest upcard will need to make a forced bet and in the other 2 games the player with the highest card will have to post this bet. If two players tie then suit will determine the bring in player. Spade, heart, diamond, club is the rule in descending order. When switching from Omaha to Razz the button will be frozen so that when the game reverts to HoldEm no one has missed or posted extra blinds.
